Bruins get back in the win column

Fargo South took control of the game early, jumping out to a 15-2 lead to start the game, and slowly extended on that lead throughout the game in posting a 54-27 win over Minnetonka of Minnesota on Friday night in the Bruin gym. The Bruins improved on their last game's performance in almost every area as they limited their turnovers and kept the Skippers from getting many offensive rebounds. Katie Dockter got the Bruins going inside early as she owned the paint, getting to the line 6 times in the half. Raquel Wellentin also chipped in inside as she scored the first basket of the game on a nice post up seal, and also got a pair of offensive rebound baskets. Both Dockter and Wellentin hit double figures for South with 11 and 10 respectively to pace South, but the Bruins balances helped in the win. 9 different Bruins scored in the game. The win moves South to 2-2 on the season. Next action for South is Tuesday when they travel to Grand Forks to take on the Red River Rough Riders.
