Bruins fall flat at home

Fargo South was battling some injuries, some illness, and a red hot Devils Lake team and the result was not pretty. The Firebirds dominated every aspect of the game on Tuesday night, and came away with a 70-22 win over the Bruins. Fargo South had a miserable first half with 19 turnovers, went 4-20 from the field, and trailed 33-9 at half. The second half wasn't much better, although the Bruins did get a good spark off the bench from Paige Schroeder who finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds. South was ice cold from the field, in large part due to the defensive pressure of Devils Lake. South shot just 10-50 from the field on the game. Sami Hoselton, Brynn Nelson, and Alice Carlson continued their great energy and effort games, hitting the floor numerous times going after loose balls or trying to draw a charge, or just generally doing whatever was required, regardless of the score, so that was a big positive on the night. The good news for South is that there is another game on Saturday when they host highly ranked Grand Forks Red River.
