Tough second half leads to loss at Davies

Fargo South played a very solid first half at Davies on Thursday night with some nice passing and good execution, coupled with some solid defense, but had 2 tough stretches in the second half that led to another defeat for the Bruins. South and Davies played back and forth the entire first half. Adie Wagner had the hot hand for South with 17 first half points, but also got a combined 13 points from their post position, and trailed just 32-30 at halftime. In the second half, Davies scored 3 quick baskets, forcing a Bruin time out trailing 38-30. The Bruins hung in there though, as they got a nice spark off the bench as Raechel Osborn came in and hit three 3-pointers over the span of a few minutes to give South a nice lift. The game stayed at around a 10 point difference for much of the rest of the half, but a turnover heavy 5 minute stretch allowed Davies to stretch that lead out to 16 and South just couldn't recover from that run. The final score of 70-50 was the largest the deficit got. Next action for the Bruins is on Tuesday, when they host undefeated Devils Lake in a 7 PM game in the Bruin's home gym.
