Fargo South got out the gate fast and bounced back from a tough loss on Saturday with a solid win on Tuesday over the visiting Grand Forks Central Knights, posting a 62-41 win in the Bruins home court. Adie Wagner was red hot in the opening half, dropping in 20 points on 3 three pointers and a pair of three point plays to give the Bruins a great spark to get the game going. The Bruins jumped out to leads of 17-4 and 24-8 as both the offense and defense complemented each other nicely in the opening half. The Bruins took a 33-16 lead into the break. South also got a great spark in the return of Sami Hoselton who had missed the previous 3 games. Sami had her usual hustle plays and combined those with a couple of nice driving baskets for scores. After the break, the Bruins methodically built their lead throughout, extending to their largest lead of 59-32 on a three pointer by Cy Davis, and the Bruins held on for the 62-41 final. Wagner led all scorers with 28 points, while Paige Schroeder continued her strong play on the boards, grabbing a game high 11 rebounds. The win moves South to 2-3 in the EDC and will face Red River in Grand Forks on Thursday night.
