It was 17-1 Red River, with the Bruins using 2 time-outs after committing 6 turnovers, and giving up 6 point blank shots to the Riders, all before Fargo South even took a shot. Somehow, the Bruins will need to find a way to avoid starts like that, as that type of run makes it extremely difficult to come back on. The Riders dominated the boards, grabbing 22 offensive rebounds on the night, compared to just 16 defensive rebounds for South - not a good stat line. South also had the turnover bug again, giving the ball to Red River 18 times in the opening half in 18 minutes of action, many of which led directly to Red River baskets. The Riders had a commanding 47-17 lead at halftime. In the second half the Bruins were able to put together a pretty good stretch over the first 6 minutes of the half, outscoring Red River 14-8 in that time frame and trying to get back into the game, trailing 55-31. However, 3 straight turnovers led to 3 straight layups by the Riders, and that pretty much squelched any chances the Bruins have of making it a competitive game. Adie Wagner, Maggie Boese, and Mesaged Abakar all had 6 points for South to lead the team. Not much turnaround time for the Bruins as they host Shanley on Friday night.
