Rebounding again critical in South loss

It was a rough night on the glass again for the Bruins, as they gave up 25 offensive rebounds en route to a runaway Davies win at 90-35 in the Bruin gym on Friday night. South had the game tied at 5-5 early off of freethrows and a three pointer by Adie Wagner, more on that later, but then Davies showed themselves to be the more aggressive team, racking up rebounds the rest of the way. South trailed 11-7 with the Eagles getting 4 points on putbacks, trailed 21-10 with the Eagles getting 12 points on putbacks, and trailed 28-14 with the Eagles getting 14 points off putbacks. That was the difference maker as South just let the game get out of hand after that. The Bruins trailed 50-17 at halftime with Wagner and Laura Green's pair of three pointers accounting for all of the Bruins points. The second half was more of the same and the result was shown on the scoreboard. One huge positive on the night though was the 20 points that Adie Wagner scored on the night pushed her past the 1000 point mark for her career. Adie's first freethrow of the game was the one that did it, and the quick celebration of that accomplishment was heartfelt by both her teammates and all of the friends and family in the crowd. It was a special moment for sure. Adie is now at 1019 points, and it will be fun to see how high up the scoring ladder she can climb. Next action for the Bruins is Tuesday when they travel to Devils Lake to take on the undefeated and #1 ranked Firebirds.
