Turnovers, ice cold shooting lead to big loss for Bruins

Shanley controlled all aspects of the game on Friday night in the Bruin gym, and the result was a lopsided 79-35 loss for Fargo South, their biggest deficit of the season. Adie Wagner scored the first 7 points for South and through the first 5 minutes of the game, the Bruins trailed 6-5 as they were playing pretty solid defense. However turnovers and continued cold shooting led to a 22-7 score with just over 2 minutes to play before halftime. Brynn Nelson and Paige Schroeder finally broke through and got in the scoring column before haltime, but the Bruins trailed 28-11 at halftime. South looked to be ready to battle back in the second half as Schroeder scored a pair of baskets to make it 28-15, but again the turnovers began to pile up, a number of which led directly to Deacon layups, and the score got streched out in short order. The Bruins gave up 51 second half points. Raechel Osborn led South with 8 points while Paige Schroeder grabbed 9 rebounds. Next action for South is this coming weekend when they play at Wahpeton on Friday, and at Fargo North on Saturday.
