Fargo South had too many turnovers and gave up too many offensive rebounds to the Shanley Deacons on Tuesday night in an 88-46 loss in the Deacon gym. The Bruins did get off to a good start though, as they led 8-7 5 minutes in, and trailed 15-14 midway through the opening half. Unfortunately for South though, they caught the turnover bug again, and a plethora of turnovers allowed the Deacons to grab control of the game over the next few minutes, extending out to a 31-18 lead. with 5 minutes to go before halftime. Additionally, a bad pattern for South is developing, as they did not finish the half strong, and that 13 point deficit cascaded all the way up to a 47-23 halftime score. Compounding the issue after halftime was turning the ball over on 4 of their first 5 possessions, allowing Shanley to build a 30 point lead, and the game was not in doubt after that. Some hilites from the South side included a season high 14 points from Laura Green, a 9 rebound effort from Sami Hoselton, and another well rounded effort from Adie Wagner, who dropped in a team high 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Next action for South is Friday night when they host Red River.
