Fargo South jumped out in front 5-2 to start the game, but then the Riders flexed their muscles and went on a 23-2 run after that to take control of the game on their way to a 71-48 win over the Bruins on Friday night. South had a tough time slowing down the Riders in the opening half, giving up 41 first half points which included wide open threes and easy inside baskets. Despite all of that, the Bruins did claw their way back into the game, cutting the lead to 25-14 with just over 4 minutes to go in the half, but again South could not slow down Red River, who scored 10 points in the last 90 seconds of the half to bust the game wide open at 41-21 heading into halftime. In the second half the Riders scored the first three baskets to push the lead to 26. South did rally to close the gap somewhat, scoring the next 9 points to cut the lead back to 47-30, but the Riders never let the Bruins get any closer, and cruised to the win. Adie Wagner led South with 24 points. South falls to 6-8 on the year and their next action is a road game at Wahpeton on Tuesday.
