Other than a slight case of fumble-itis for a few stretches, the Bruins put together another solid team effort, defeating cross town foe Fargo North by a 66-50 score. Once again everyone contributed, from the players on the floor to the bench personnel who kept spirits high, the game marked the third straight game where South was really solid in almost every aspect. The Bruins got balanced scoring with 3 girls in double figures, and their defense was disruptive, led up top by Sami Hoselton who had a great all around game, and in the lane by the post trio of Paige Schroeder, Ann Smith, and Brynn Nelson who all did a great job of keeping the North posts in check. After a somewhat slow first 2 minutes, the Bruins got it in gear and built up a double digit lead in the first half, pushing out to a 32-21 halftime lead. In the second, South scored the first 5 points of the half on an offensive rebound putback basket by Schroeder and an Adie Wagner three which gave the Bruins a 37-21 lead just 90 seconds into the half. The lead after that never got below double digits again with the Bruins biggest lead coming at 54-36 on an Alice Carlson steal and pass ahead to Hoselton with just under 7 minutes to go in the game. There were a ton of bright spots again for South throughout the game, one of which was a career high 17 points from Sami Hoselton. Alice Carlson also hit a high with 8 assists on the night. Another great team effort for South. Next action for the Bruins is Friday night when they start a run of home games by hosting the Central Knights.
