Bruins fall to Packers

Fargo South played well for a substantial amount of the game, but some bad stretches mixed in led to a loss in the Packer gym on Tuesday night by a 79-48 score. South controlled most of the first 10 minutes of the game, jumping out to a 10-4 lead, and held a 14-13 lead with just over 8 minutes to play in the half. The Packers finished the half strong though as the Bruins had a stomach bug and foul trouble hit them over the next few minutes. The Packers built a 27-17 lead with just over 2 minutes before halftime, and then South really struggled to finish the half, giving up 11 points in the last 2 minutes to trail 39-23 at halftime. That continued to start the second, as West Fargo scored 5 points in the first few seconds of the half to push the lead to 44-23. The Packers built up a 56-31 lead midway through the half, but Adie Wagner got hot, scoring 11 straight points for South as they clawed back to a 57-44 game with 7 minutes to go giving the Bruins some life, but South hit another rough patch to close out the game as they had 2 players foul out, making things difficult. South struggled to find the basket, as baskets by Lexi Johnson and Teigan Malo were the only shots made besides Adie Wagner dropping in 20 second half points to finish with a game high 30 points. The loss drops South to 4-3 and into a 3 way tie for 4th place in the league. Next action for the Bruins is Thursday when they host Fargo Davies.
